I just rebuilt my first road bike. Just in time for terrible weather today. Here is a picture of it!
And here is a picture of my other bike for fun. It s such a huge difference in riding between the two.

Nice, where did you get the frame and groupo? Do you have stem mounted shifters on that too?

Haha, i knew someone would point that out. I am picking some up on my way home from work today. I was kind of in a hurry to put it together yesterday and didn't have time to grab some. It was stripped to just the frame when I got home.

It is a 1981 FUJI Gran sport SE. The groupo is what came on it. Suntour Vx derailleurs, and weinnman brakes. I bought/saved it from some hipster on craigslist, and completely stripped it down, got rid of a bunch of rust and repainted it. So I guess I didn't really build it from scratch, more restored it.

Giant? Referring to the size of the head tube? I didn't think it was that big for an aluminum bike. Thanks though.

Thanks! I finally got it to the point where I don't want to upgrade it anymore, and rode the hell out of it this year. I got the road bike for my need to tinker, and because I don't like MTB in cold weather for some reason. Cold mud isn't for me.

This is mid-40's. Head tubes have large shrunk. As have bikes. Especially city bikes for some reason. A city bike is great when you can sit with your back straight up. which means a high handlebar position. Also, a high bottom bracket for clearance since you've got so much rake that you need to lean quite a bit to go around a corner. Sadly, people are stupid and buy the bike they think they want, but not the bike they need.
